When A is For began in the spring of 2012, we envisioned people from all walks of life wearing their A ribbons as a symbol of unity against the War on Women. Over the past few months, we’ve shipped ribbons across the country and around the world, including all the way to Australia. Since then, we’ve launched our ongoing video project, encouraging supporters to grab a camera, put on their ribbon and tell us what their A is for. As you’ll hear in these videos, people are reclaiming the A and changing its meaning from one of shame and excoriation to one of strength, unity and defiance.
