Kellie Overbey, Co-Founder & Executive Director

Kellie has worked over three decades as a professional actress in theatre, television and film. She made her Broadway debut in the Steppenwolf production of Sam Shepard’s Buried Child, and has performed in over 70 plays including new works with renowned playwrights Tom Stoppard, Chris Durang, Beth Henley, Steve Martin, Tracy Letts, and more. She has received a Lucille Lortel nomination and two Drama Desk nominations. Also a writer, she’s written several plays and penned the screenplay for That’s What She Said which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012, directed by Carrie Preston. Besides helming A is For and working to eradicate stigma against abortion care, she is an Eastern Principal Councilor at Actors Equity Association and a founding member of Fair Wage On Stage, which advocates for fair wages for artists working in the theatre.

Heidi Miller, Director of Individual Giving

Heidi spent 14 years in Development at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). She also has experience in film and television production and magazine publishing. Heidi is proud to be working with A is For.

Cynthia Nuara, Director of Development & Programming

Cynthia has been working in NYC’s social sector for 10+ years and loves supporting the missions of small, progressive organizations. For several years she worked at Candid and before that was the Director of Administrative Services at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center. Cynthia is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Guatemala. She is a mom, advocate, chocolate connoisseur and Bruce Springsteen superfan.

Lauren Rankin, Director of Communications

Lauren Rankin is the author of Bodies on the Line: At the Front Lines of the Fight to Protect Abortion in America, available everywhere books are sold. Her work has been featured at the Washington Post, The Cut, Fast Company, Teen Vogue, Mother Jones, NBC News, and many more. She also served as a volunteer clinic escort at a New Jersey abortion clinic from 2014 to 2020.

Meghan Keeney, Digital and Social Media Wizard

Meghan Keeney is a freelance dancer, writer, and digital creative based in NYC. She is originally from Puyallup, WA. In 2020, Meghan graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a BA in Dance and a double major in Digital Journalism with a concentration in Video Production. When she isn’t dancing, she is either filming, editing, or writing. Her written articles can be seen in Dance Magazine, Pointe, Dance Teacher, i-D, Business Insider, and Seattle Refined.
